Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,

Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud,

Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,

Abraham was the father ¹  of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

Judah the father of Perez and Zerah (by Tamar), Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,

Salmon the father of Boaz (by Rahab), Boaz the father of Obed (by Ruth), Obed the father of Jesse,

and Jesse the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon (by the wife of Uriah ¹ ),

After ¹  the deportation to Babylon, Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel, ²  Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,

and Josiah ¹  the father of Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon.

Now the time came ¹  for Elizabeth to have her baby, ²  and she gave birth to a son.

and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, by whom ¹  Jesus was born, who is called Christ. ² 

When the man said this, ¹  Moses fled and became a foreigner ²  in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

Then God ¹  gave Abraham ²  the covenant ³  of circumcision, and so he became the father of Isaac and circumcised him when he was eight days old, ⁴  and Isaac became the father of ⁵  Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs. ⁶
