Then ¹  a little later someone else ²  saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, ³  I am not!”

Pilate said to them, “Take ¹  a guard of soldiers. Go and make it as secure as you can.”

The man ¹  said to him, “Teacher, I have wholeheartedly obeyed ²  all these laws ³  since my youth.” ⁴ 

Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, I will not!”

[He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. ¹ 

Jesus said to him, “Once again it is written: ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” ¹ 

After he said, “From foreigners,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons ¹  are free.

He asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

Then he brought them outside ¹  and asked, “Sirs, what must ²  I do to be saved?”

So the commanding officer ¹  came and asked ²  Paul, ³  “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” ⁴  He replied, ⁵  “Yes.”

Agrippa ¹  said to Festus, ²  “This man could have been released ³  if he had not appealed to Caesar.” ⁴ 

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So ¹  the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

“Which ones?” he asked. Jesus replied, “Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,

So ¹  they answered Jesus, ²  “We don’t know.” ³  Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you ⁴  by what authority ⁵  I am doing these things.

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, ¹  on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

and declared, “This man ¹  said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he was not following us.”

Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you deceived ¹  for this reason, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God?

But when he came to his senses ¹  he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food ²  enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

So ¹  they all said, “Are you the Son of God, ²  then?” He answered ³  them, “You say ⁴  that I am.”
