“Sir,” ¹  the woman ²  said to him, “you have no bucket and the well ³  is deep; where then do you get this ⁴  living water? ⁵ 

The crowd ¹  answered, “You’re possessed by a demon! ²  Who is trying to kill you?” ³ 

Therefore if you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.

I am also aware ¹  that you have persisted steadfastly, ²  endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.

In the same way, there are also some among you who follow the teaching of the Nicolaitans. ¹ 

I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one can take away ¹  your crown. ² 

so ¹  I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

for you have had five husbands, and the man you are living with ¹  now is not your husband. This you said truthfully!”

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Then the Judeans ¹  replied, ²  “You are not yet fifty years old! ³  Have ⁴  you seen Abraham?”

But you do have this going for you: ¹  You hate what the Nicolaitans ²  practice ³  – practices I also hate.

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

The Judeans ¹  replied, ²  “Aren’t we correct in saying ³  that you are a Samaritan and are possessed by a demon?” ⁴ 

Now we know that you know everything ¹  and do not need anyone ²  to ask you anything. ³  Because of this ⁴  we believe that you have come from God.”

The commanding officer ¹  took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, “What is it that you want ²  to report to me?”

The faith ¹  you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not judge himself by what he approves.

For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not?

because I hear ¹  of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love ²  for all the saints. ³ 

But you have a few individuals ¹  in Sardis who have not stained ²  their clothes, and they will walk with me dressed ³  in white, because they are worthy.

When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have ¹  and give the money ²  to the poor, ³  and you will have treasure ⁴  in heaven. Then ⁵  come, follow me.”
