They went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

So those who were sent ahead found ¹  it exactly ²  as he had told them.

So ¹  they went and found things ²  just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

The ¹  herdsmen ran off, went into the town, ²  and told everything that had happened to the demon-possessed men.

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So ¹  the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

When evening arrived, his disciples came to him saying, “This is an isolated place ¹  and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away so that they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

But he answered them, ¹  “You ²  give them something to eat.” And they said, “Should we go and buy bread for two hundred silver coins ³  and give it to them to eat?”

Now ¹  on the first day of the feast of ²  Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, ³  Jesus’ ⁴  disciples said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” ⁵
