We proclaim him by instructing ¹  and teaching ²  all people ³  with all wisdom so that we may present every person mature ⁴  in Christ.

Now as Jesus was passing by, ¹  he saw a man who had been blind from birth.

For we consider that a person ¹  is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. ² 

Reject a divisive person after one or two warnings.

These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.” ¹ 

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

He denied it again with an oath, “I do not know the man!”

He said, “What comes out of a person defiles him.

All these evils come from within and defile a person.”

For I delight in the law of God in my inner being.

Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, ¹  or does the law not say this as well?

Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

But when the king came in to see the wedding guests, he saw a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.

At that he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know the man!” At that moment a rooster crowed. ¹ 

As ¹  they were going out, they found a man from Cyrene named Simon, whom they forced ²  to carry his cross. ³ 

Then ¹  he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people, ²  not people for the Sabbath.

For what benefit is it for a person ¹  to gain the whole world, yet ²  forfeit his life?

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

He said, ¹  “In a certain city ²  there was a judge ³  who neither feared God nor respected people. ⁴
