They ¹  were delighted ²  and arranged to give him money. ³ 

I have desired ¹  no one’s silver or gold or clothing.

So ¹  Judas threw the silver coins into the temple and left. Then he went out and hanged himself.

But the one who had received one talent went out and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money in it.

After ¹  they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

When they heard this, they were delighted ¹  and promised to give him money. ²  So ³  Judas ⁴  began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, ¹ 

You know that from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors you were ransomed – not by perishable things like silver or gold,

Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, ¹  and on my return I would have received my money back with interest! ² 

and said, “What will you give me to betray him into your hands?” ¹  So they set out thirty silver coins for him.

Now when ¹  Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus ²  had been condemned, he regretted what he had done and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders,

The ¹  chief priests took the silver and said, “It is not lawful to put this into the temple treasury, since it is blood money.”

So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story is told among the Jews to this day. ¹ 

He ¹  said to them, “Take nothing for your ²  journey – no staff, ³  no bag, ⁴  no bread, no money, and do not take an extra tunic. ⁵ 

Why then didn’t you put ¹  my money in the bank, ²  so that when I returned I could have collected it with interest?’

and their bones ¹  were later moved to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought for a certain sum of money ²  from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, ¹  because you thought you could acquire ²  God’s gift with money!

Then what was spoken by Jeremiah ¹  the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty silver coins, the price of the one whose price had been set by the people of Israel, ² 

When ¹  he returned after receiving the kingdom, he summoned ²  these slaves to whom he had given the money. He wanted ³  to know how much they had earned ⁴  by trading.

But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, ¹  but what I do have I give you. In the name ²  of Jesus Christ ³  the Nazarene, stand up and ⁴  walk!”
