Little children, guard yourselves from idols. ¹ 

The young man said to him, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed ¹  all these laws. ²  What do I still lack?”

The man ¹  said to him, “Teacher, I have wholeheartedly obeyed ²  all these laws ³  since my youth.” ⁴ 

The man ¹  replied, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed ²  all these laws ³  since my youth.” ⁴ 

You ¹  received the law by decrees given by angels, ²  but you did not obey ³  it.” ⁴ 

Protect that good thing ¹  entrusted to you, through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

You be on guard against him ¹  too, because he vehemently opposed our words.

When a strong man, ¹  fully armed, guards his own palace, ²  his possessions are safe. ³ 

But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live ¹  by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

Therefore if the uncircumcised man obeys ¹  the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?

But the Lord is faithful, and he ¹  will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

O Timothy, protect what has been entrusted to you. Avoid ¹  the profane chatter and absurdities ²  of so-called “knowledge.” ³ 

and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, ¹  when God ²  brought a flood on an ungodly world, ³ 

Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, ¹  and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, ²  without blemish ³  before his glorious presence, ⁴ 

Now ¹  there were shepherds ²  nearby ³  living out in the field, keeping guard ⁴  over their flock at night.

When he had seized him, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads ¹  of soldiers to guard him. Herod ²  planned ³  to bring him out for public trial ⁴  after the Passover.

As they went through the towns, ¹  they passed on ²  the decrees that had been decided on by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem ³  for the Gentile believers ⁴  to obey. ⁵ 

But regarding the Gentiles who have believed, we have written a letter, having decided ¹  that they should avoid ²  meat that has been sacrificed to idols ³  and blood and what has been strangled ⁴  and sexual immorality.”

he said, “I will give you a hearing ¹  when your accusers arrive too.” Then ²  he ordered that Paul ³  be kept under guard in Herod’s palace. ⁴
