When they saw the star they shouted joyfully. ¹ 

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised.” And they became greatly distressed.

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

But when the man ¹  heard this he became very sad, ²  for he was extremely wealthy.

They ¹  became greatly distressed ²  and each one began to say to him, “Surely not I, Lord?”

When ¹  his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were very upset and went and told their lord everything that had taken place.

Now when the centurion ¹  and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, they were extremely terrified and said, “Truly this one was God’s Son!”

The word of God continued to spread, ¹  the number of disciples in Jerusalem ²  increased greatly, and a large group ³  of priests became obedient to the faith.

And gigantic hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds ¹  each, fell from heaven ²  on people, ³  but they ⁴  blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, since it ⁵  was so horrendous. ⁶
