So the person who resists such authority ¹  resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment

And just as Jannes and Jambres ¹  opposed Moses, so these people – who have warped minds and are disqualified in the faith ²  – also oppose the truth.

Yet ¹  they were not able to resist ²  the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”

So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you.

For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground ¹  on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

Resist him, ¹  strong in your faith, because you know ²  that your brothers and sisters ³  throughout the world ⁴  are enduring ⁵  the same kinds of suffering. ⁶
