However, because Moses gave you the practice of circumcision ¹  (not that it came from Moses, but from the forefathers), you circumcise a male child ²  on the Sabbath.

Then Moses ¹  and Elijah ²  also appeared before them, talking with him.

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?” ¹ 

“The ¹  experts in the law ²  and the Pharisees ³  sit on Moses’ seat.

Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, ¹  and they were talking with Jesus.

He answered them, ¹  “What did Moses command you?”

They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.” ¹ 

Then ¹  two men, Moses and Elijah, ²  began talking with him. ³ 

But Abraham said, ¹  ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to ²  them.’

If ¹  you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.

and all were baptized ¹  into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,

But until this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds, ¹ 

who is faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses was also in God’s ¹  house. ² 

Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death ¹  without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ² 

By faith, when he grew up, Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,

Then ¹  beginning with Moses and all the prophets, ²  he interpreted to them the things written about ³  himself in all the scriptures.

For the law was given through Moses, but ¹  grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

Just as ¹  Moses lifted up the serpent ²  in the wilderness, ³  so must the Son of Man be lifted up, ⁴ 

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death ¹  such women. ²  What then do you say?”

They ¹  heaped insults ²  on him, saying, ³  “You are his disciple! ⁴  We are disciples of Moses!
