He was in the world, and the world was created ¹  by him, but ²  the world did not recognize ³  him.

They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world’s perspective and the world listens to them.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

They do not belong to the world ¹  just as I do not belong to the world. ² 

Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. ¹ 

If you belonged to the world, ¹  the world would love you as its own. ²  However, because you do not belong to the world, ³  but I chose you out of the world, for this reason ⁴  the world hates you. ⁵ 

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, ¹  but that the world should be saved through him.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world ¹  will be driven out. ² 

those who use the world as though they were not using it to the full. For the present shape of this world is passing away.

If you have died with Christ to the elemental spirits ¹  of the world, why do you submit to them as though you lived in the world?

and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, ¹  when God ²  brought a flood on an ungodly world, ³ 

I have given them your word, ¹  and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, ²  just as I do not belong to the world. ³ 

I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn, ¹  I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” ² 

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, ¹  but take courage ²  – I have conquered the world.” ³ 

In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world.

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent to settle trivial suits?

But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which ¹  the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

And when he ¹  comes, he will prove the world wrong ²  concerning sin and ³  righteousness and ⁴  judgment –

and concerning judgment, ¹  because ²  the ruler of this world ³  has been condemned. ⁴
