Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disgraces his head.

because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body.

But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, ¹  and God is the head of Christ.

But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same thing as having a shaved head.

When ¹  you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,

Even all the hairs on your head are numbered.

Those ¹  who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads

So ¹  the king sent an executioner at once to bring John’s ²  head, and he went and beheaded John in prison.

Yet ¹  not a hair of your head will perish. ² 

For this reason a woman should have a symbol of authority ¹  on her head, because of the angels. ²

Do not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.

Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ¹ 

Again and again ¹  they struck him on the head with a staff ²  and spit on him. Then they knelt down and paid homage to him.

You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet ¹  with perfumed oil.

In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; ¹  you are more valuable than many sparrows.

But when these things ¹  begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption ²  is drawing near.”
