For all who have sinned apart from the law ¹  will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

If you sin against your brothers or sisters ¹  in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

(My little children, ¹  I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. ² ) But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate ³  with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, ⁴ 

Everyone who resides ¹  in him does not sin; ²  everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not!

Be angry and do not sin; ¹  do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger. ² 

Those guilty of sin ¹  must be rebuked ²  before all, ³  as a warning to the rest. ⁴ 

You know ¹  that such a person is twisted by sin ²  and is conscious of it himself. ³ 

But if you marry, you have not sinned. And if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face difficult circumstances, ¹  and I am trying to spare you such problems. ² 

If ¹  anyone sees his fellow Christian ²  committing a sin not resulting in death, ³  he should ask, and God ⁴  will grant ⁵  life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death. ⁶  There is a sin resulting in death. ⁷  I do not say that he should ask about that.

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said, “What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”

Watch ¹  yourselves! If ²  your brother ³  sins, rebuke him. If ⁴  he repents, forgive him.

Sober up as you should, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God – I say this to your shame!

And against whom was God ¹  provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? ² 

For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, ¹ 

“If ¹  your brother ²  sins, ³  go and show him his fault ⁴  when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have regained your brother.

Then Peter came to him and said, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother ¹  who sins against me? As many as seven times?”

I will get up and go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned ¹  against heaven ²  and against ³  you.

Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive ¹  him.”
