So ¹  Herod ²  questioned him at considerable length; Jesus ³  gave him no answer.

And they paid close attention to him because he had amazed them for a long time with his magic.

Now after some days had passed, the Jews plotted ¹  together to kill him,

So ¹  Peter ²  stayed many days in Joppa with a man named ³  Simon, a tanner. ⁴ 

After ¹  the city officials ²  had received bail ³  from Jason and the others, they released them.

(Now there were many lamps ¹  in the upstairs room where we were meeting.) ² 

That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead. ¹ 

This punishment on such an individual by the majority is enough for him,

After ¹  they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

So ¹  they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” ²  Then he told them, “It is enough.” ³ 

because he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a significant number of people ¹  were brought to the Lord.

After they had proclaimed the good news in that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, ¹  to Iconium, ²  and to Antioch. ³ 

Then Paul ¹  went back upstairs, ²  and after he had broken bread and eaten, he talked with them ³  a long time, until dawn. Then he left.

They all began to weep loudly, ¹  and hugged ²  Paul and kissed him, ³ 

to the latter an odor ¹  from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? ² 

Not that we are adequate ¹  in ourselves to consider anything as if it were coming from ourselves, but our adequacy ²  is from God,

He proclaimed, ¹  “One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy ²  to bend down and untie the strap ³  of his sandals.

Because he wanted to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them. Then, ¹  after he had Jesus flogged, ²  he handed him over ³  to be crucified.

Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, ¹  and the demonic spirits ²  begged Jesus ³  to let them go into them. He gave them permission. ⁴ 

Then ¹  he began to tell the people this parable: “A man ²  planted a vineyard, ³  leased it to tenant farmers, ⁴  and went on a journey for a long time.
