So the disciples went back to their homes.

So they spent ¹  considerable ²  time with the disciples.

Now ¹  John’s ²  disciples and the Pharisees ³  were fasting. ⁴  So ⁵  they came to Jesus ⁶  and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

John’s ¹  disciples informed him about all these things. So ²  John called ³  two of his disciples

When he had said these things, ¹  Jesus went out with his disciples across the Kidron Valley. ²  There was an orchard ³  there, and he and his disciples went into it.

Then John’s ¹  disciples came to Jesus ²  and asked, “Why do we and the Pharisees ³  fast often, ⁴  but your disciples don’t fast?”

As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. ¹ 

Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Then ¹  the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

I brought him to your disciples, but ¹  they were not able to heal him.”

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

So ¹  the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,

When ¹  Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples,

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

So ¹  the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.
