And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, because she was fully deceived, ¹  fell into transgression. ² 

With him are strength and prudence; ¹  both the one who goes astray ²  and the one who misleads are his.

Do not be led astray, my dear brothers and sisters. ¹ 

But evil people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, ¹  deceiving others and being deceived themselves. ² 

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” ¹ 

Then the Pharisees answered, ¹  “You haven’t been deceived too, have you? ² 

For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died. ¹ 

When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out loudly. ¹  The woman said to Saul, “Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!”

Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. ¹  For a person ²  will reap what he sows,

Lord, you coerced me into being a prophet, and I allowed you to do it. You overcame my resistance and prevailed over me. ¹  Now I have become a constant laughingstock. Everyone ridicules me.

Make sure you do not turn away to serve and worship other gods! ¹ 

In response to all this ¹  I said, “Ah, Lord God, ²  you have surely allowed ³  the people of Judah and Jerusalem ⁴  to be deceived by those who say, ‘You will be safe!’ ⁵  But in fact a sword is already at our throats.” ⁶ 

Your presumptuous heart ¹  has deceived you – you who reside in the safety of the rocky cliffs, ²  whose home is high in the mountains. ³  You think to yourself, ⁴  ‘No one can ⁵  bring me down to the ground!’ ⁶ 

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, ¹  practicing homosexuals, ² 

And the devil who deceived ¹  them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, ²  where the beast and the false prophet are ³  too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.

Jacob also deceived ¹  Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was leaving. ² 

So the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this ¹  you have done?” And the woman replied, “The serpent ²  tricked ³  me, and I ate.”

“‘As for the prophet, if he is made a fool by being deceived into speaking a prophetic word – I, the Lord, have made a fool of ¹  that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.

Saul said to Michal, “Why have you deceived me this way by sending my enemy away? Now he has escaped!” Michal replied to Saul, “He said to me, ‘Help me get away or else I will kill you!’” ¹ 

ק (Qof) I called for my lovers, ¹  but they had deceived me. My priests and my elders perished in the city. Truly they had ²  searched for food to ³  keep themselves ⁴  alive. ⁵
