they brought in the contributions, tithes, ¹  and consecrated items that had been offered. ²  Konaniah, a Levite, was in charge of all this, assisted by his brother Shimei.

Kore son of Imnah, a Levite and the guard on the east side, was in charge of the voluntary offerings made to God and disbursed the contributions made to the Lord and the consecrated items.

We will also bring the first of our coarse meal, of our contributions, of the fruit of every tree, of new wine, and of olive oil to the priests at the storerooms of the temple of our God, along with a tenth of the produce ¹  of our land to the Levites, for the Levites are the ones who collect the tithes in all the cities where we work. ² 

On that day men were appointed over the storerooms for the contributions, first fruits, and tithes, to gather into them from ¹  the fields of the cities the portions prescribed by the law for the priests and the Levites, for the people of Judah ²  took delight in the priests and Levites who were ministering. ³ 

Azariah, the head priest from the family of Zadok, said to him, “Since the contributions began arriving in the Lord’s temple, we have had plenty to eat and have a large quantity left over. For the Lord has blessed his people, and this large amount remains.”

He made for himself a large storeroom where previously they had been keeping ¹  the grain offering, the incense, and the vessels, along with the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil as commanded for the Levites, the singers, the gate keepers, and the offering for the priests.

For there on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord, all the house of Israel will serve me, all of them ¹  in the land. I will accept them there, and there I will seek your contributions and your choice gifts, with all your holy things.

If a priest’s daughter marries a lay person, ¹  she may not eat the holy contribution offerings, ² 

All the officials and all the people gladly brought their silver and threw it into the chest until it was full.

Can a person rob ¹  God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say, ‘How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions! ² 

Now the materials were more than enough ¹  for them to do all the work. ² 

They did so, ¹  sending their financial aid ²  to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so that I could serve you! ¹ 

because of your participation ¹  in the gospel from the first day until now. ² 

For even in Thessalonica ¹  on more than one occasion ²  you sent something for my need.

In the third month they began piling their contributions in heaps ¹  and finished in the seventh month.

After several years ¹  I came to bring to my people gifts for the poor ²  and to present offerings, ³ 

Every offering ¹  of all the Israelites’ holy things that they bring to the priest will be his.

The priests should receive the silver they need from the treasurers and repair any damage to the temple they discover.” ¹ 

I also provided for ¹  the wood offering at the appointed times and also for the first fruits. Please remember me for good, O my God.
