They conceive ¹  trouble and bring forth evil; their belly ²  prepares deception.”

You conceive straw, ¹  you give birth to chaff; your breath is a fire that destroys you. ² 

Listen: ¹  You will become pregnant ²  and give birth to ³  a son, and you will name him ⁴  Jesus. ⁵ 

But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she will be free of ill effects ¹  and will be able to bear children.

So Boaz married Ruth and had sexual relations with her. ¹  The Lord enabled her to conceive ²  and she gave birth to a son.

By faith, even though Sarah herself was barren and he was too old, ¹  he received the ability to procreate, ²  because he regarded the one who had given the promise to be trustworthy.

Did I conceive this entire people? ¹  Did I give birth to ²  them, that you should say to me, ‘Carry them in your arms, as a foster father ³  bears a nursing child,’ to the land which you swore to their fathers?

Then he set up the peeled branches in all the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink. He set up the branches in front of the flocks when they were in heat and came to drink. ¹ 

For they do not try to make peace with others, ¹  but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting. ² 

Look, ¹  you desire ²  integrity in the inner man; ³  you want me to possess wisdom. ⁴ 

But they did not have a child, because Elizabeth was barren, ¹  and they were both very old. ²
