“If you love me, you will obey ¹  my commandments. ² 

For ¹  this is the love of God: ²  that we keep his commandments. ³  And his commandments do not weigh us down,

All the law and the prophets depend ¹  on these two commandments.”

“‘If you walk in my statutes and are sure to obey my commandments, ¹ 

“‘If, however, ¹  you do not obey me and keep ²  all these commandments –

If you obey ¹  my commandments, you will remain ²  in my love, just as I have obeyed ³  my Father’s commandments and remain ⁴  in his love.

They ¹  were both righteous in the sight of God, following ²  all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly. ³ 

“You must be sure to do my commandments. ¹  I am the Lord.

if they break ¹  my rules and do not keep my commandments,

Guide me ¹  in the path of your commands, for I delight to walk in it. ² 

I will find delight in your commands, which I love.

and showing covenant faithfulness ¹  to a thousand generations ²  of those who love me and keep my commandments.

but I show covenant faithfulness ¹  to the thousands ²  who choose ³  me and keep my commandments.

Now ¹  by this we know that we have come to know God: ²  if we keep his commandments.

These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses to tell the Israelites ¹  at Mount Sinai.

Thus ¹  you will remember and obey all my commandments and be holy to your God.

So you must keep his ¹  commandments, live according to his standards, ²  and revere him.

the blessing if you take to heart ¹  the commandments of the Lord your God that I am giving you today,

Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Instead, keeping God’s commandments is what counts.

to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands. ¹
