The arrogant dig pits to trap me, ¹  which violates your law. ² 

Some have become arrogant, ¹  as if I were not coming to you.

A proud ¹  and arrogant ²  person, whose name is “Scoffer,” ³  acts ⁴  with overbearing pride. ⁵ 

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed ¹  the prosperity ²  of the wicked.

Arrogant people smear my reputation with lies, ¹  but I observe your precepts with all my heart.

They spew out threats ¹  and speak defiantly; all the evildoers boast. ² 

You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed. ¹ 

Guarantee the welfare of your servant! ¹  Do not let the arrogant oppress me!

So now we consider the arrogant to be happy; indeed, those who practice evil are successful. ¹  In fact, those who challenge ²  God escape!’”

But I will come to you soon, if the Lord is willing, and I will find out not only the talk of these arrogant people, but also their power.

Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. ¹  Yet I do not turn aside from your law.

The Lord abhors ¹  every arrogant person; ²  rest assured ³  that they will not go unpunished. ⁴ 

slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents,

I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret. I will not tolerate anyone who has a cocky demeanor and an arrogant attitude. ¹ 

May the arrogant be humiliated, for they have slandered me! ¹  But I meditate on your precepts.

For people ¹  will be lovers of themselves, ²  lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

We have had our fill ¹  of the taunts of the self-assured, of the contempt of the proud.

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.

And you are proud! ¹  Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this ²  from among you?

Then I said to the people of Judah, ¹  “Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant! For the Lord has spoken.
