But as for me, my feet almost slipped; my feet almost slid out from under me. ¹ 

They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts.

On the next Sabbath almost the whole city assembled together to hear the word of the Lord. ¹ 

I almost ¹  came to complete ruin ²  in the midst of the whole congregation!” ³ 

Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What will I do with ¹  this people? – a little more ²  and they will stone me!” ³ 

When the seven days were almost over, ¹  the Jews from the province of Asia ²  who had seen him in the temple area ³  stirred up the whole crowd ⁴  and seized ⁵  him,

And you see and hear that this Paul has persuaded ¹  and turned away ²  a large crowd, ³  not only in Ephesus ⁴  but in practically all of the province of Asia, ⁵  by saying ⁶  that gods made by hands are not gods at all. ⁷ 

but they urged him, ¹  “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So ²  he went in to stay with them.

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

In fact he became so ill that he nearly died. ¹  But God showed mercy to him – and not to him only, but also to me – so that I would not have grief on top of grief.

If the Lord had not helped me, I would have laid down in the silence of death. ¹ 

Agrippa ¹  said to Paul, “In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?” ² 

because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. ¹  As Jesus was on his way, the crowds pressed ²  around him.

Now the Jewish feast of Passover ¹  was near, and many people went up to Jerusalem ²  from the rural areas before the Passover to cleanse themselves ritually. ³ 

since it was because of the work of Christ that he almost died. He risked his life so that he could make up for your inability to serve me. ¹ 

When Israel saw Joseph’s sons, he asked, “Who are these?”

The fool folds his hands and does no work, ¹  so he has nothing to eat but his own flesh. ² 

Jesus ¹  went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around him.
