Pilate addressed them once again because he wanted ¹  to release Jesus.

Then he said to the council, ¹  “Men of Israel, ²  pay close attention to ³  what you are about to do to these men.

But Peter stood up ¹  with the eleven, raised his voice, and addressed them: “You men of Judea ²  and all you who live in Jerusalem, ³  know this ⁴  and listen carefully to what I say.

Then ¹  one of the elders asked ²  me, “These dressed in long white robes – who are they and where have they come from?”

When Peter saw this, he declared to the people, “Men of Israel, ¹  why are you amazed at this? Why ²  do you stare at us as if we had made this man ³  walk by our own power or piety?

When the commanding officer ¹  had given him permission, ²  Paul stood ³  on the steps and gestured ⁴  to the people with his hand. When they had become silent, ⁵  he addressed ⁶  them in Aramaic, ⁷ 

And have you forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons? “My son, do not scorn ¹  the Lord’s discipline or give up when he corrects ²  you.

Samuel said to all Israel, “I have done ¹  everything you requested. ²  I have given you a king. ³ 

Then Moses went ¹  and spoke these words ²  to all Israel.

Then the Lord said to Moses that same day,

Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

He addressed ¹  both Jews and Greeks in the synagogue ²  every Sabbath, attempting to persuade ³  them.

However, it was not until ¹  the first day of the eleventh month ²  of the fortieth year ³  that Moses addressed the Israelites just as ⁴  the Lord had instructed him to do.

Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel: “Be quiet and pay attention, Israel. Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.

Solomon addressed all Israel, including those who commanded units of a thousand and a hundred, the judges, and all the leaders of all Israel who were heads of families.

Then Jesus spoke out again, ¹  “I am the light of the world. ²  The one who follows me will never ³  walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

He said to the people, “Be ready for the third day. Do not go near your wives.” ¹ 

Then Moses said to the congregation: “This is what the Lord has commanded to be done.”

So it was in the Transjordan, in Moab, that Moses began to deliver these words: ¹
