Does God pervert ¹  justice? ²  Or does the Almighty pervert ³  what is right?

Indeed, in truth, God does not act wickedly, and the Almighty does not pervert justice.

But now you are preoccupied with the judgment due the wicked, judgment and justice take hold of you.

I walk in the path of righteousness, in the pathway of justice,

A wicked person receives a bribe secretly ¹  to pervert ²  the ways of justice.

Justice will settle down in the desert and fairness will live in the orchard. ¹ 

The Israelites ¹  turn justice into bitterness; ²  they throw what is fair and right ³  to the ground. ⁴ 

Justice must flow like torrents of water, righteous actions ¹  like a stream that never dries up.

For this reason the law lacks power, ¹  and justice is never carried out. ²  Indeed, ³  the wicked intimidate ⁴  the innocent. ⁵  For this reason justice is perverted. ⁶ 

The king is strong; he loves justice. ¹  You ensure that legal decisions will be made fairly; ²  you promote justice and equity in Jacob.

“You must not turn away justice for your poor people in their lawsuits.

How blessed are those who promote justice, and do what is right all the time!

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable ¹  to the Lord than sacrifice. ² 

Equity and justice are the foundation of your throne. ¹  Loyal love and faithfulness characterize your rule. ² 

Learn to do what is right! Promote justice! Give the oppressed reason to celebrate! ¹  Take up the cause of the orphan! Defend the rights of the widow! ² 

The Lord does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed. ¹ 

To receive ¹  moral instruction ²  in skillful living, ³  in ⁴  righteousness, ⁵  justice, ⁶  and equity. ⁷ 

A king brings stability ¹  to a land ²  by justice, but one who exacts tribute ³  tears it down.

¹ Zion will be freed by justice, ²  and her returnees by righteousness. ³ 

Look, a king will promote fairness; ¹  officials will promote justice. ²
