From the descendants of Bani: ¹  Maadai, Amram, Uel,

Igal son of Nathan from Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

From ¹  the descendants of Binnui: Shimei,

From the descendants of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, Adaiah, Jashub, Sheal, and Jeremoth.

The leaders ¹  of the people were as follows: Parosh, Pahath-Moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani,

Then the Levites – Jeshua, Binnui, ¹  Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Kenani – stood on the steps and called out loudly ²  to the LORD their God.

Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah – all of whom were Levites ¹  – were teaching the people the law, as the people remained standing.
