The Beloved about Her Lover: Listen! ¹  My lover is approaching! ²  Look! ³  Here he comes, leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills!

The Lover to His Beloved: My lover spoke to me, saying: “Arise, my darling; My beautiful one, come away with me!

The Beloved about Her Lover: My lover is mine and I am his; he grazes among the lilies. ¹ 

My lover thrust his hand ¹  through ²  the hole, ³  and my feelings ⁴  were stirred ⁵  for him.

The Beloved to Her Lover: Come, my beloved, let us go to the countryside; let us spend the night in the villages.

And ¹  a voice from heaven said, ²  “This is my one dear Son; ³  in him ⁴  I take great delight.” ⁵ 

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; ¹  in you I take great delight.” ² 

When they could not pay, he canceled ¹  the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

This is why the Father loves me ¹  – because I lay down my life, ²  so that I may take it back again.

to Timothy, my dear child. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord!

From Paul, ¹  a prisoner of Christ Jesus, ²  and Timothy our ³  brother, to Philemon, our dear friend ⁴  and colaborer,

“For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.” ¹ 

Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God,

Dear friend, ¹  you demonstrate faithfulness ²  by whatever you do for the brothers (even though they are strangers).

But you, dear friends – recall the predictions ¹  foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. ² 

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ¹ 

I opened for my beloved, but my lover had already turned ¹  and gone away. ²  I fell into despair ³  when he departed. ⁴  I looked for him but did not find him; I called him but he did not answer me.

So Jacob worked for seven years to acquire Rachel. ¹  But they seemed like only a few days to him ²  because his love for her was so great. ³
