When the people cried to Moses, he ¹  prayed to the Lord, and the fire died out. ² 

The Israelites again did evil in the Lord’s sight ¹  after Ehud’s death.

The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and Korah at the time that company died, when the fire consumed 250 men. So they became a warning.

The Lord was so furious with Uzzah, ¹  he ²  killed him on the spot ³  for his negligence. ⁴  He died right there beside the ark of God.

The Arameans fled before Israel. David killed 700 Aramean charioteers and 40,000 foot soldiers. ¹  He also struck down Shobach, the general in command of the army, who died there.

The next day Hazael ¹  took a piece of cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over Ben Hadad’s ²  face until he died. Then Hazael replaced him as king.

When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him; the name of his city was Pai. ¹  His wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab.

As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”

Then ¹  the Judeans ²  responded, ³  “Now we know you’re possessed by a demon! ⁴  Both Abraham and the prophets died, and yet ⁵  you say, ‘If anyone obeys ⁶  my teaching, ⁷  he will never experience ⁸  death.’ ⁹ 

Next, ¹  the second angel ²  poured out his bowl on the sea and it turned into blood, like that of a corpse, and every living creature that was in the sea died.

The king then gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada who went and executed Shimei. ¹  So Solomon took firm control of the kingdom. ² 

The priests will not eat any bird or animal that has died a natural death or was torn to pieces by a wild animal. ¹ 

And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive

His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer murdered him. ¹  He was buried ²  with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

In the year of King Uzziah’s death, ¹  I saw the sovereign master ²  seated on a high, elevated throne. The hem of his robe filled the temple.

Immediately an angel of the Lord ¹  struck ²  Herod ³  down because he did not give the glory to God, and he was eaten by worms and died. ⁴ 

But David’s soldiers had slaughtered the Benjaminites and Abner’s men – in all, 360 men had died!

The king chanted the following lament for Abner: “Should Abner have died like a fool?

That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead. ¹ 

With her dying breath, ¹  she named him Ben-Oni. ²  But his father called him Benjamin instead. ³
