through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice ¹  in the hope of God’s glory.

And I wrote this very thing to you, ¹  so that when I came ²  I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.

Now I rejoice, not because you were made sad, ¹  but because you were made sad to the point of repentance. For you were made sad as God intended, ²  so that you were not harmed ³  in any way by us.

And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate, even sending gifts to each other, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

Let the sea and everything in it shout! Let the fields and everything in them celebrate!

I will boast ¹  in the Lord; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! ² 

Make your servant ¹  glad, for to you, O Lord, I pray! ² 

You created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon ¹  rejoice in your name.

Zion hears and rejoices, the towns ¹  of Judah are happy, because of your judgments, O Lord.

Your loyal followers will be glad when they see me, ¹  for I find hope in your word.

Ointment and incense make the heart rejoice, ¹  likewise the sweetness of one’s friend from sincere counsel. ² 

When the righteous rejoice, ¹  great is the glory, ²  but when the wicked rise to power, people are sought out. ³ 

In the transgression of an evil person there is a snare, ¹  but a righteous person can sing ²  and rejoice. ³ 

I was glad about the arrival of Stephanus, Fortunatus, and Achaicus because they have supplied the fellowship with you that I lacked. ¹ 

For the music director; a psalm of David. O Lord, the king rejoices in the strength you give; ²  he takes great delight in the deliverance you provide. ³

The righteous see their destruction ¹  and rejoice; the innocent mock them scornfully, ²  saying,

I rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules ¹  as if ²  they were riches of all kinds. ³
