Then they returned to Jerusalem ¹  from the mountain ²  called the Mount of Olives ³  (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey ⁴  away).

“But as the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had declared to Abraham, ¹  the people increased greatly in number ²  in Egypt,

Because Lydda ¹  was near Joppa, when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Come to us without delay.” ² 

With difficulty we sailed along the coast ¹  of Crete ²  and came to a place called Fair Havens that was near the town of Lasea. ³ 

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” ¹  (that is, the word of faith that we preach),

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. ¹ 

for the law made nothing perfect. On the other hand a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day ¹  drawing near. ² 

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of prayer. ¹ 

Then ¹  he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.

Abraham ¹  then took some curds and milk, along with the calf that had been prepared, and placed the food ²  before them. They ate while ³  he was standing near them under a tree.

So Esau hated ¹  Jacob because of the blessing his father had given to his brother. ²  Esau said privately, ³  “The time ⁴  of mourning for my father is near; then I will kill ⁵  my brother Jacob!”

He reached a certain place ¹  where he decided to camp because the sun had gone down. ²  He took one of the stones ³  and placed it near his head. ⁴  Then he fell asleep ⁵  in that place

Early ¹  in the morning Jacob ²  took the stone he had placed near his head ³  and set it up as a sacred stone. ⁴  Then he poured oil on top of it.

That is why to this day ¹  the Israelites do not eat the sinew which is attached to the socket of the hip, because he struck ²  the socket of Jacob’s hip near the attached sinew.

So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods that were in their possession ¹  and the rings that were in their ears. ²  Jacob buried them ³  under the oak ⁴  near Shechem

Now Israel’s eyes were failing ¹  because of his age; he was not able to see well. So Joseph ²  brought his sons ³  near to him, and his father ⁴  kissed them and embraced them.

His sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, near Mamre. This is the field Abraham purchased as a burial plot from Ephron the Hittite.

It came between the Egyptian camp and the Israelite camp; it was a dark cloud ¹  and it lit up the night so that one camp did not come near the other ²  the whole night. ³
