And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

When morning came, ¹  the men and their donkeys were sent off. ² 

Indeed, ¹  you are my lamp, ²  Lord. The Lord illumines ³  the darkness around me. ⁴ 

Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars! ¹ 

For this reason deliverance ¹  is far from us ²  and salvation does not reach us. We wait for light, ³  but see only darkness; ⁴  we wait for ⁵  a bright light, ⁶  but live ⁷  in deep darkness. ⁸ 

Your sun will no longer set; your moon will not disappear; ¹  the Lord will be your permanent source of light; your time ²  of sorrow will be over.

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a hidden place ¹  or under a basket, ²  but on a lampstand, so that those who come in can see the light.

Jesus replied, ¹  “Are there not twelve hours in a day? If anyone walks around in the daytime, he does not stumble, ²  because he sees the light of this world. ³ 

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God lights it up, and its lamp is the Lamb.

A bright look ¹  brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the body. ² 

Many say, “Who can show us anything good?” Smile upon us, Lord! ¹ 

My heart beats quickly; my strength leaves me; I can hardly see. ¹ 

The Lord has made a promise to Israel. He promises it as the one who fixed the sun to give light by day and the moon and stars to give light by night. He promises it as the one who stirs up the sea so that its waves roll. He promises it as the one who is known as the Lord who rules over all. ¹ 

What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear, ¹  proclaim from the housetops. ² 

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, ¹  to guide our feet into the way ²  of peace.”

No one ¹  could see ²  another person, and no one could rise from his place for three days. But the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

So get up early in the morning along with the servants of your lord who have come with you. ¹  When you get up early in the morning, as soon as it is light enough to see, leave.” ² 

is like the light of morning when the sun comes up, a morning in which there are no clouds. He is like the brightness after rain that produces grass from the earth.

The light of Israel ¹  will become a fire, their Holy One ²  will become a flame; it will burn and consume the Assyrian king’s ³  briers and his thorns in one day.

Pay attention to me, my people! Listen to me, my people! For ¹  I will issue a decree, ²  I will make my justice a light to the nations. ³
