When the wicked sprout up like grass, and all the evildoers glisten, ¹  it is so that they may be annihilated. ² 

O Lord our God, you answered them. They found you to be a forgiving God, but also one who punished their sinful deeds. ¹ 

Although an assailant may overpower ¹  one person, two can withstand him. Moreover, a three-stranded cord is not quickly broken.

Then that wealth was lost through bad luck; ¹  although he fathered a son, he has nothing left to give him. ² 

You were once abandoned and despised, with no one passing through, but I will make you ¹  a permanent source of pride and joy to coming generations.

In spite of all this, ¹  Israel’s sister, unfaithful Judah, has not turned back to me with any sincerity; she has only pretended to do so,” ²  says the Lord.

Therefore I will act with fury! My eye will not pity them nor will I spare ¹  them. When they have shouted in my ears, I will not listen to them.”

The horn that was broken ¹  and in whose place there arose four others stands for four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, though they will not have his strength.

I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “Sir, ¹  what will happen after these things?”

Although they bring their flocks and herds ¹  to seek ²  the favor of the Lord, ³  They will not find him – he has withdrawn himself from them!

The Lord who rules over all ¹  says this: “These people have said, ‘The time for rebuilding the Lord’s temple has not yet come.’” ² 

So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

“And look, ¹  your relative ²  Elizabeth has also become pregnant with ³  a son in her old age – although she was called barren, she is now in her sixth month! ⁴ 

Then ¹  you will be blessed, ²  because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid ³  at the resurrection of the righteous.”

(Now he said this about Judas son of Simon Iscariot, ¹  for Judas, ²  one of the twelve, was going to betray him.) ³ 

He replied, ¹  “I do not know whether he is a sinner. I do know one thing – that although I was blind, now I can see.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live ¹  even if he dies,

so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around ¹  for him and find him, ²  though he is ³  not far from each one of us.

Therefore, although God has overlooked ¹  such times of ignorance, ²  he now commands all people ³  everywhere to repent, ⁴ 

serving the Lord with all humility ¹  and with tears, and with the trials that happened to me because of the plots ²  of the Jews.
