Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

Which is easier, ¹  to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?

While ¹  they were talking and debating ²  these things, ³  Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

A great number of sick, blind, lame, and paralyzed people were lying in these walkways. ¹ 

But he answered them, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat ¹  and walk.’”

They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Pick up your mat ¹  and walk’?” ² 

After this many of his disciples quit following him ¹  and did not accompany him ²  any longer.

But if anyone walks around at night, ¹  he stumbles, ²  because the light is not in him.”

If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with ¹  the Spirit.

Be imitators of me, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.

and then you are careful to observe all these commandments ¹  I am giving ²  you today (namely, to love the Lord your God and to always walk in his ways), then you must add three more cities ³  to these three.

What ¹  I am commanding you today is to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to obey his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances. Then you will live and become numerous and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you are about to possess. ² 

Do the job the Lord your God has assigned you ¹  by following his instructions ²  and obeying ³  his rules, commandments, regulations, and laws as written in the law of Moses. Then you will succeed in all you do and seek to accomplish, ⁴ 

The man replied, ¹  “I heard you moving about ²  in the orchard, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

“God will provide ¹  for himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham replied. The two of them continued on together.

But the Israelites walked on dry ground in the middle of the sea, the water forming a wall for them on their right and on their left.

However, when ¹  they confess their iniquity and their ancestors’ iniquity which they committed by trespassing against me, ²  by which they also walked ³  in hostility against me ⁴ 

Joshua left those nations ¹  to test ²  Israel. I wanted to see ³  whether or not the people ⁴  would carefully walk in the path ⁵  marked out by ⁶  the Lord, as their ancestors ⁷  were careful to do.”

Solomon did evil in the Lord’s sight; ¹  he did not remain loyal to ²  the Lord, like his father David had.
