Then Jesus ¹  placed his hands on the man’s ²  eyes again. And he opened his eyes, ³  his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay ¹  one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use? ² 

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.” ¹ 

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that “we all have knowledge.” ¹  Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

Brothers and sisters, ¹  do not be children in your thinking. Instead, be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves ¹  from everything that could defile the body ²  and the spirit, and thus accomplish ³  holiness out of reverence for God. ⁴ 

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And we pray for this: that you may become fully qualified. ¹ 

and have been clothed with the new man ¹  that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it.

not pilfering, but showing all good faith, ¹  in order to bring credit to ²  the teaching of God our Savior in everything.

But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

For otherwise would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers would have been purified once for all and so have ¹  no further consciousness of sin?

And now, little children, remain ¹  in him, ²  so that when ³  he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back. ⁴ 

No one has seen God at any time. ¹  If we love one another, God resides ²  in us, and his love is perfected in us. ³ 

Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, ¹  but receive a full reward. ² 

So if perfection had in fact been possible through the Levitical priesthood – for on that basis ¹  the people received the law – what further need would there have been for another priest to arise, said to be in the order of Melchizedek and not in Aaron’s order?

Achish replied to David, “I am convinced that you are as reliable ¹  as the angel of God! However, the leaders of the Philistines have said, ‘He must not go up with us in the battle.’
