(2:2) The watchmen of Nineveh shout: ¹  “An enemy who will scatter you ²  is marching out ³  to attack you!” ⁴  “Guard ⁵  the rampart! ⁶  Watch the road! Prepare yourselves for battle! ⁷  Muster your mighty strength!” ⁸ 

praising God and having the good will ¹  of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day ²  those who were being saved.

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances ¹  his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

And his affection for you is much greater ¹  when he remembers the obedience of you all, how you welcomed him with fear and trembling.

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisters ¹  in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, ² 

For those who have served well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves ¹  and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. ² 

But grow in the grace and knowledge ¹  of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on ²  that eternal day. ³ 

The merchants who sold ¹  these things, who got rich from her, will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment. They will weep ²  and mourn,

Bring out with you all the living creatures that are with you. Bring out ¹  every living thing, including the birds, animals, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Let them increase ²  and be fruitful and multiply on the earth!” ³ 

I will indeed bless you, ¹  and I will greatly multiply ²  your descendants ³  so that they will be as countless as the stars in the sky or the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession ⁴  of the strongholds ⁵  of their enemies.

You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck.” ¹ 

So they put foremen ¹  over the Israelites ²  to oppress ³  them with hard labor. As a result ⁴  they built Pithom and Rameses ⁵  as store cities for Pharaoh.

The priest must then examine it on the seventh day, and if, ¹  as far as he can see, the infection has stayed the same ²  and has not spread on the skin, ³  then the priest is to quarantine the person for another seven days. ⁴ 

If, however, the scab is spreading further ¹  on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his purification, then he must show himself to the priest a second time.

The priest must then examine it on the seventh day, and if it is spreading further ¹  on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce him unclean. It is a diseased infection. ² 

The priest must then examine the infection on the seventh day, and if ¹  the scall has not spread, there is no reddish yellow hair in it, and the scall does not appear to be deeper than the skin, ² 

then the priest is to examine it, and if ¹  the scall has spread on the skin the priest is not to search further for reddish yellow hair. ²  The person ³  is unclean.

the priest is to come and examine it, and if ¹  the infection has spread in the house, it is a malignant disease in the house. It is unclean.

“If, however, the priest enters ¹  and examines it, and the ²  infection has not spread in the house after the house has been replastered, then the priest is to pronounce the house clean because the infection has been healed.
