But no one says, ‘Where is God, my Creator, who gives songs in the night, ¹ 

He causes everyone to stop working, ¹  so that all people ²  may know ³  his work.

The Lord approves of ¹  the godly, ²  but he ³  hates ⁴  the wicked and those who love to do violence. ⁵ 

He gives me the agility of a deer; ¹  he enables me to negotiate the rugged terrain. ² 

You calm the raging seas ¹  and their roaring waves, as well as the commotion made by the nations. ² 

He humbles princes; ¹  the kings of the earth regard him as awesome. ² 

A psalm of Asaph. God stands in ²  the assembly of El; ³  in the midst of the gods ⁴  he renders judgment. ⁵ 

He would pour ¹  contempt upon princes, and he made them wander in a wasteland with no road.

Yet he protected ¹  the needy from oppression, and cared for his families like a flock of sheep.

Those who make them will end up ¹  like them, as will everyone who trusts in them.

He ¹  brings peace to your territory. ²  He abundantly provides for you ³  the best grain.

For the ways of a person ¹  are in front of the Lord’s eyes, and the Lord ²  weighs ³  all that person’s ⁴  paths.

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, ¹  and like a bird from the trap ²  of the fowler.

The Lord satisfies ¹  the appetite ²  of the righteous, but he thwarts ³  the craving ⁴  of the wicked.

The wicked person ¹  earns ²  deceitful wages, ³  but the one who sows ⁴  righteousness reaps ⁵  a genuine ⁶  reward. ⁷ 

The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous ¹  will flourish like a green leaf. ² 

The one who oppresses ¹  the poor insults ²  his Creator, but whoever shows favor ³  to the needy honors him.

A quick-tempered person ¹  stirs up dissension, but one who is slow to anger ²  calms ³  a quarrel. ⁴ 

The Lord abhors ¹  the plans ²  of the wicked, ³  but pleasant words ⁴  are pure. ⁵ 

A bright look ¹  brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the body. ²
