The Lord shows his faithful followers the way they should live. ¹ 

The Lord grants success to the one whose behavior he finds commendable. ¹ 

The law of their God controls their thinking; ¹  their ²  feet do not slip.

This is the destiny of fools, ¹  and of those who approve of their philosophy. ²  (Selah)

He turned the sea into dry land; ¹  they passed through the river on foot. ²  Let us rejoice in him there! ³ 

You will subdue ¹  a lion and a snake; ²  you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.

The wicked lay a trap for me, but I do not wander from your precepts.

For this reason I carefully follow all your precepts. ¹  I hate all deceitful actions. ² 

Therefore ¹  they will eat from the fruit ²  of their way, ³  and they will be stuffed full ⁴  of their own counsel.

None who go in to her will return, ¹  nor will they reach the paths of life. ² 

When you walk, your steps ¹  will not be hampered, ²  and when you run, ³  you will not stumble.

Keep yourself ¹  far ²  from her, and do not go near the door of her house,

For the ways of a person ¹  are in front of the Lord’s eyes, and the Lord ²  weighs ³  all that person’s ⁴  paths.

For the commandments ¹  are like ²  a lamp, ³  instruction is like a light, and rebukes of discipline are like ⁴  the road leading to life, ⁵ 

There is a way that seems right to a person, ¹  but its end is the way that leads to death. ² 

Folly is a joy to one who lacks sense, ¹  but one who has understanding ²  follows an upright course. ³

The way of the guilty person ¹  is devious, ²  but as for the pure, ³  his way is upright.

Thorns and snares ¹  are in the path of the perverse, but the one who guards himself keeps far from them.

Train ¹  a child ²  in the way that he should go, ³  and when he is old he will not turn from it. ⁴
