But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, ¹  he came and entered ²  the barracks ³  and told Paul.

Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God ¹  that it will be just as I have been told.

but as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” ¹ 

But if someone says to you, “This is from a sacrifice,” do not eat, because of the one who told you and because of conscience ¹  –

For many live, about whom I have often told you, and now, with tears, I tell you that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.

He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with ¹  three measures ²  of flour until all the dough had risen.” ³ 

He told them, “You will drink my cup, ¹  but to sit at my right and at my left is not mine to give. Rather, it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”

Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. He ¹  is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”

He told him, ¹  “See that you do not say anything to anyone, ²  but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering that Moses commanded ³  for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” ⁴ 

Then some soldiers ¹  also asked him, “And as for us – what should we do?” ²  He told them, “Take money from no one by violence ³  or by false accusation, ⁴  and be content with your pay.”

Then ¹  the experts in the law ²  and the chief priests wanted to arrest ³  him that very hour, because they realized he had told this parable against them. But ⁴  they were afraid of the people.

Philip found Nathanael ¹  and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also ²  wrote about – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

So he asked them the time ¹  when his condition began to improve, ²  and ³  they told him, “Yesterday at one o’clock in the afternoon ⁴  the fever left him.”

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

He replied, ¹  “The man called Jesus made mud, ²  smeared it ³  on my eyes and told me, ⁴  ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and was able to see.” ⁵ 

He answered, ¹  “I told you already and you didn’t listen. ²  Why do you want to hear it ³  again? You people ⁴  don’t want to become his disciples too, do you?”

There are many dwelling places ¹  in my Father’s house. ²  Otherwise, I would have told you, because ³  I am going away to make ready ⁴  a place for you. ⁵ 

Remember what ¹  I told you, ‘A slave ²  is not greater than his master.’ ³  If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed ⁴  my word, they will obey ⁵  yours too.

“I have told you these things in obscure figures of speech; ¹  a time ²  is coming when I will no longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will tell you ³  plainly ⁴  about the Father.

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, ¹  but take courage ²  – I have conquered the world.” ³
