(They ¹  came out of the tombs after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.)

So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.” ¹ 

I tell you the truth, ¹  people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. ² 

They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where ¹  he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly. ² 

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

Now ¹  people were bringing little children to him for him to touch, ²  but the disciples scolded those who brought them. ³ 

But if we say, ‘From people – ’” (they feared the crowd, for they all considered John to be truly a prophet).

For they said, “Not during the feast, so there won’t be a riot among the people.” ¹ 

Now ¹  the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they began to wonder ²  why he was delayed in the holy place. ³ 

“Blessed ¹  be the Lord God of Israel, because he has come to help ²  and has redeemed ³  his people.

“Glory ¹  to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people ²  with whom he is pleased!” ³ 

While the people were filled with anticipation ¹  and they all wondered ²  whether perhaps John ³  could be the Christ, ⁴ 

Now when ¹  all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. And while he was praying, ²  the heavens ³  opened,

So ¹  he went down to Capernaum, ²  a town ³  in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he began to teach the people. ⁴ 

But whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  do not welcome ⁴  you, go into its streets ⁵  and say,

Likewise, just as it was ¹  in the days of Lot, people ²  were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;

He said, ¹  “In a certain city ²  there was a judge ³  who neither feared God nor respected people. ⁴ 

but ¹  they could not find a way to do it, ²  for all the people hung on his words. ³ 

And all the people ¹  came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts. ² 

A great number of the people followed him, among them women ¹  who were mourning ²  and wailing for him.
