Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will sing for joy over Babylon. For destroyers from the north will attack it,” says the Lord. ¹ 

Our food has been cut off right before our eyes! ¹  There is no longer any joy or gladness in the temple of our God! ² 

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, ¹  for I proclaim to you good news ²  that brings great joy to all the people:

Rejoice in that day, and jump for joy, because ¹  your reward is great in heaven. For their ancestors ²  did the same things to the prophets. ³ 

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels ¹  over one sinner who repents.”

And while they still could not believe it ¹  (because of their joy) and were amazed, ²  he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” ³ 

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  you will weep ²  and wail, ³  but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, ⁴  but your sadness will turn into ⁵  joy.

So also you have sorrow ¹  now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. ² 

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, ¹  so that your joy may be complete.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

I do not mean that we rule over your faith, but we are workers with you for your joy, because by faith you stand firm. ¹ 

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth ¹  of their generosity.

complete my joy and be of the same mind, ¹  by having the same love, being united in spirit, ²  and having one purpose.

So then, my brothers and sisters, ¹  dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, when you received ¹  the message with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction.

For who is our hope or joy or crown to boast of ¹  before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not of course you?

For how can we thank God enough for you, ¹  for all the joy we feel ²  because of you before our God?

I ¹  have had great joy and encouragement because ²  of your love, for the hearts ³  of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

They observed the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy, for the Lord had given them joy and had changed the opinion ¹  of the king of Assyria ²  toward them, so that he assisted ³  them in the work on the temple of God, the God of Israel.
