When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked directly at him and said, “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus.”

For what does it benefit a person ¹  if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?

so ¹  he thought to himself, ²  ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ ³ 

So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, ¹  but is not rich toward God.”

Therefore he said, “A nobleman ¹  went to a distant country to receive ²  for himself a kingdom and then return. ³ 

For David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my ¹  lord, “Sit at my right hand,

While they were saying these things, Jesus ¹  himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” ² 

Then they picked up ¹  stones to throw at him, ²  but Jesus hid himself and went out from the temple area. ³ 

he got up from the meal, removed ¹  his outer clothes, ²  took a towel and tied it around himself. ³ 

If God is glorified in him, ¹  God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away. ² 

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. ¹ 

Then the eunuch said ¹  to Philip, “Please tell me, ²  who is the prophet saying this about – himself or someone else?” ³ 

Simeon ¹  has explained ²  how God first concerned himself ³  to select ⁴  from among the Gentiles ⁵  a people for his name.

Then Festus ¹  replied that Paul was being kept at Caesarea, ²  and he himself intended to go there ³  shortly.

When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live ¹  by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard ¹  for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.

The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, ¹  but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

For it is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person the Lord commends.
