Eat honey, ¹  my child, for it is good, and honey from the honeycomb is sweet to your taste.

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

It is not good ¹  to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable for people to seek their own glory. ² 

The fool folds his hands and does no work, ¹  so he has nothing to eat but his own flesh. ² 

If you have a willing attitude and obey, ¹  then you will again eat the good crops of the land.

Arrange the table, lay out ¹  the carpet, eat and drink! ²  Get up, you officers, smear oil on the shields! ³ 

The oxen and donkeys used in plowing ¹  will eat seasoned feed winnowed with a shovel and pitchfork. ² 

“‘Do not go to a house where people are feasting and sit down to eat and drink with them either.

The Babylonians are all like lions roaring for prey. They are like lion cubs growling for something to eat. ¹ 

Then you will do as I have done: You will not cover your lip or eat food brought by others. ¹ 

“Please test your servants for ten days by providing us with some vegetables to eat and water to drink.

When you enter the town, you can find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people won’t eat until he arrives, for he must bless the sacrifice. Once that happens, those who have been invited will eat. Now go on up, for ¹  this is the time when you can find him!”

for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open ¹  and you will be like divine beings who know ²  good and evil.” ³ 

When food was served, ¹  he said, “I will not eat until I have said what I want to say.” ²  “Tell us,” Laban said. ³ 

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice ¹  on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. ²  They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.

In three more days Pharaoh will decapitate you ¹  and impale you on a pole. Then the birds will eat your flesh from you.”

They will take some of the blood and put it on the two side posts and top of the doorframe of the houses where they will eat it.

Do not eat it raw ¹  or boiled in water, but roast it over the fire with its head, its legs, and its entrails.

For seven days ¹  you must eat ²  bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be ³  a festival to the Lord.
