But I will harden ¹  Pharaoh’s heart, and although I will multiply ²  my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt,

The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that my wonders ¹  may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

I will not drive them out before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild animals ¹  multiply against you.

The priest must then examine it, ¹  and if ²  the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce the person unclean. ³  It is a disease.

But if the priest examines it and ¹  the infection has not spread in the garment or in the warp or in the woof or in any article of leather,

The priest must return on the seventh day and examine it, and if ¹  the infection has spread in the walls of the house,

when your cattle and flocks increase, when you have plenty of silver and gold, and when you have abundance of everything,

He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father Manasseh had done. ¹  Amon was guilty of great sin. ² 

Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! ¹  Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! ²  If wealth increases, do not become attached to it! ³ 

Give instruction ¹  to a wise person, ²  and he will become wiser still; teach ³  a righteous person and he will add to his ⁴  learning.

One person is generous ¹  and yet grows more wealthy, ²  but another withholds more than he should ³  and comes to poverty. ⁴ 

When a country is rebellious ¹  it has many princes, ²  but by someone who is discerning and knowledgeable ³  order is maintained. ⁴ 

The downtrodden will again rejoice in the Lord; the poor among humankind will take delight ¹  in the Holy One of Israel. ² 

For you are aware of our many rebellious deeds, ¹  and our sins testify against us; indeed, we are aware of our rebellious deeds; we know our sins all too well. ² 

When your products went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples; with the abundance of your wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.

I will multiply your people ¹  – the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities will be populated and the ruins rebuilt.

I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and multiply it; I will not bring a famine on you.

(3:31) ¹  “King Nebuchadnezzar, to all peoples, nations, and language groups that live in all the land: Peace and prosperity! ² 

Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and language groups who were living in all the land: “Peace and prosperity! ¹ 

They will eat, but not be satisfied; they will engage in prostitution, but not increase in numbers; because they have abandoned the Lord by pursuing other gods. ¹
