Thus you nullify ¹  the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like this.”

When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and experts in the law ¹  arguing with them.

But at this statement, the man ¹  looked sad and went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. ² 

Many spread their cloaks on the road and others spread branches they had cut in the fields.

He sent another, and that one they killed. This happened to many others, some of whom were beaten, others killed.

Then everyone ¹  will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds ²  with great power and glory.

He said to them, “This is my blood, the blood ¹  of the covenant, ²  that is poured out for many.

Indeed, as a result of him the thoughts ¹  of many hearts will be revealed ²  – and a sword ³  will pierce your own soul as well!” ⁴ 

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus ¹  from one town after another, ²  he spoke to them ³  in a parable:

Now on ¹  the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.

But the Lord ¹  answered her, ²  “Martha, Martha, ³  you are worried and troubled ⁴  about many things,

In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; ¹  you are more valuable than many sparrows.

“Exert every effort ¹  to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

But Jesus ¹  said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet ²  and invited ³  many guests. ⁴ 

Then ¹  they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud ²  with power and great glory.

A great number of the people followed him, among them women ¹  who were mourning ²  and wailing for him.

A large crowd was following him because they were observing the miraculous signs he was performing on the sick.

After this many of his disciples quit following him ¹  and did not accompany him ²  any longer.

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

so many of the Jewish people of the region ¹  had come to Martha and Mary to console them ²  over the loss of their brother.) ³
