You must not make gods of silver alongside me, ¹  nor make gods of gold for yourselves. ² 

But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord still here, that we may ask him?”

I say to the Lord, “You are the Lord, my only source of well-being.” ¹ 

Then they say, “The Lord does not see this; the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.” ¹ 

How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker? ¹ 

Surely, he ate in darkness every day of his life, ¹  and he suffered greatly with sickness and anger.

“Suppose such a man has ¹  a violent son who sheds blood and does any of these things ²  mentioned previously

But above all pursue his kingdom ¹  and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Now Jesus performed ¹  many other miraculous signs in the presence of the ²  disciples, which are not recorded ³  in this book. ⁴ 

And no one assumes this honor ¹  on his own initiative, ²  but only when called to it by God, ³  as in fact Aaron was.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior ¹  of the world.

Far be it from us to rebel against the Lord by turning back today from following after the Lord by building an altar for burnt offerings, sacrifices, and tokens of peace ¹  aside from the altar of the Lord our God located in front of his dwelling place!” ² 

Hushai went on to say, “You know your father and his men – they are soldiers and are as dangerous as a bear out in the wild that has been robbed of her cubs. ¹  Your father is an experienced soldier; he will not stay overnight with the army.

Then Jeremiah got another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah. As Jeremiah dictated, Baruch wrote on this scroll everything that had been on the scroll that King Jehoiakim of Judah burned in the fire. They also added on this scroll several other messages of the same kind. ¹ 

This is how the once-proud city will end up ¹  – the city that was so secure. ²  She thought to herself, ³  “I am unique! No one can compare to me!” ⁴  What a heap of ruins she has become, a place where wild animals live! Everyone who passes by her taunts her ⁵  and shakes his fist. ⁶ 

This is what the Lord says: “The profit ¹  of Egypt and the revenue ²  of Ethiopia, along with the Sabeans, those tall men, will be brought to you ³  and become yours. They will walk behind you, coming along in chains. ⁴  They will bow down to you and pray to you: ⁵  ‘Truly God is with ⁶  you; he has no peer; ⁷  there is no other God!’”

So he returned to Judah and said, “I couldn’t find her. Moreover, the men of the place said, ‘There has been no cult prostitute here.’”

The spoil that remained of the plunder which the fighting men ¹  had gathered ²  was 675,000 sheep,

Ruth the Moabite replied, “He even ¹  told me, ‘You may go along beside my servants ²  until they have finished gathering all my harvest!’” ³ 

Later the Moabites and Ammonites, along with some of the Meunites, ¹  attacked Jehoshaphat.
