The towns of Babylonia have become heaps of ruins. She has become a dry and barren desert. No one lives in those towns any more. No one even passes through them. ¹ 

A crowd of people from the towns around Jerusalem ¹  also came together, bringing the sick and those troubled by unclean spirits. ²  They ³  were all ⁴  being healed.

Philip, however, found himself ¹  at Azotus, ²  and as he passed through the area, ³  he proclaimed the good news ⁴  to all the towns ⁵  until he came to Caesarea. ⁶ 

Suppose a man or woman is discovered among you – in one of your villages ¹  that the Lord your God is giving you – who sins before the Lord your God ²  and breaks his covenant

Each of these cities had grazing areas around it; they were alike in this regard. ¹ 

in Hazar Shual, in Beer Sheba and its villages,

Our children, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead,

Arab, Dumah, ¹  Eshan,

This was the land assigned to the tribe of Naphtali ¹  by its clans, including the cities and their towns.

The rest of the Kohathite clans received ten cities and their grazing areas.

The Benjaminites came from their cities and assembled at Gibeah ¹  to make war against the Israelites.

Segub was the father of Jair, who owned twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

The clans of Kohath’s descendants also received territory within the tribe of Ephraim. ¹ 

(Rehoboam continued to rule over the Israelites who lived in the cities of Judah.)

In the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, as far as Naphtali, and in the ruins ¹  around them,

The land of Judah will be inhabited by people who live in its towns as well as by farmers and shepherds with their flocks. ¹ 

on Kerioth and Bozrah. It will come on all the towns of Moab, both far and near.

But all the livestock and plunder from the cities we kept for ourselves.

from Ekron westward, all those in the vicinity of Ashdod and their towns;

The men of Manasseh did not conquer Beth Shan, Taanach, or their surrounding towns. Nor did they conquer the people living in Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo ¹  or their surrounding towns. ²  The Canaanites managed ³  to remain in those areas. ⁴
