When he told his father and his brothers, his father rebuked him, saying, “What is this dream that you had? ¹  Will I, your mother, and your brothers really come and bow down to you?” ² 

For you say, “We have made a treaty with death, with Sheol ¹  we have made an agreement. ²  When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by ³  it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, we have hidden ourselves in a deceitful word.” ⁴ 

We have submitted ¹  to Egypt and Assyria in order to buy food to eat. ² 

and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves ¹  have forgiven our debtors.

for it is impossible ¹  for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

even us, whom he has called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Or do only Barnabas and I lack the right not to work?

Now we have such confidence in God through Christ.

for we live ¹  by faith, not by sight.

by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by benevolence, by the Holy Spirit, ¹  by genuine ²  love,

And I hope that you will realize that we have not failed the test! ¹ 

For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait expectantly for the hope of righteousness.

Let us not become conceited, ¹  provoking ²  one another, being jealous ³  of one another.

For God did not call us to impurity but in holiness.

We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced. ¹ 

We have enough straw and grain for our donkeys, and there is enough food and wine for me, your female servant, ¹  and the young man who is with your servants. ²  We lack nothing.”

The elders of Jabesh said to him, “Leave us alone for seven days so that we can send messengers throughout the territory of Israel. If there is no one who can deliver us, we will come out voluntarily to you.”

Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread that we break a sharing in the body of Christ?
