If a man redeems ¹  part of his tithe, however, he must add one fifth to it. ² 

But ¹  Job will be tested to the end, because his answers are like those of wicked men.

Then many will be led into sin, ¹  and they will betray one another and hate one another.

One ¹  should think about us this way – as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

(Stop drinking just water, but use a little wine for your digestion ¹  and your frequent illnesses.) ² 

For there are many ¹  rebellious people, idle talkers, and deceivers, especially those with Jewish connections, ² 

So, although I have quite a lot of confidence in Christ and could command you to do what is proper,

and for this reason he is obligated to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.

But the rich person’s pride should be in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow. ¹ 

But you, dear friends – recall the predictions ¹  foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. ² 

Look, for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you, because I do not want your possessions, but you. For children should not have ¹  to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

You ¹  go get straw for yourselves wherever you can ²  find it, because there will be no reduction at all in your workload.’”

It must be eaten in one house; you must not bring any of the meat outside the house, and you must not break a bone of it.

See here! ¹  Its blood was not brought into the holy place within! ²  You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary just as I commanded!”

It must be eaten on the day of your sacrifice and on the following day, ¹  but what is left over until the third day must be burned up. ² 

“And if she marries a husband while under a vow, ¹  or she uttered ²  anything impulsively by which she has pledged herself,

Not one of the Lord’s faithful promises to the family of Israel ¹  was left unfulfilled; every one was realized. ² 

This ought not to be, ¹  my sons! For the report that I hear circulating among the Lord’s people is not good.

They replied, “You have not wronged us or oppressed us. You have not taken anything from the hand of anyone.”
