And they must stand as your towns of refuge from the avenger in order that the killer may not die until he has stood trial before the community.

For the Lord your God has chosen them and their sons from all your tribes to stand ¹  and serve in his name ²  permanently.

then both parties to the controversy must stand before the Lord, that is, before the priests and judges ¹  who will be in office in those days.

You must stand outside and the person to whom you are making the loan will bring out to you what he is offering as security. ¹

The four wheels were under the frames and the crossbars of the axles were connected to the stand. Each wheel was two and one-quarter feet ¹  high.

On top of each stand was a round opening three-quarters of a foot deep; ¹  there were also supports and frames on top of the stands.

He also made ten bronze basins, each of which could hold about 240 gallons. ¹  Each basin was six feet in diameter; ²  there was one basin for each stand.

He leans against his house but it does not hold up, ¹  he takes hold ²  of it but it does not stand.

How blessed ²  is the one ³  who does not follow ⁴  the advice ⁵  of the wicked, ⁶  or stand in the pathway ⁷  with sinners, or sit in the assembly ⁸  of scoffers! ⁹ 

Stand up angrily, ¹  Lord! Rise up with raging fury against my enemies! ²  Wake up for my sake and execute the judgment you have decreed for them! ³
