your cattle, and the wild animals that are in your land – all its produce will be for you ¹  to eat.

Because that year is a jubilee, it will be holy to you – you may eat its produce ¹  from the field.

If you say, ‘What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not sow and gather our produce?’

You will eat, not just one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,

and you eat ¹  some of the food of the land, you must offer up a raised offering ²  to the Lord.

There you will worship gods made by human hands – wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

You may eat any animal that has hooves divided into two parts and that chews the cud. ¹ 

but whatever does not have fins and scales you may not eat; it is ritually impure to you.

You and your household must eat them annually before the Lord your God in the place he ¹  chooses.

However, you must not eat its blood; you must pour it out on the ground like water.

So David hid in the field. When the new moon came, the king sat down to eat his meal.

But he replied, “I can’t go back with you ¹  or eat and drink ²  with you in this place.

Let the oppressed eat and be filled! ¹  Let those who seek his help praise the Lord! May you ²  live forever!

They will not be ashamed when hard times come; ¹  when famine comes they will have enough to eat. ² 

I cannot eat, I weep day and night; ¹  all day long they say to me, ²  “Where is your God?”

so that your feet may stomp ¹  in their blood, and your dogs may eat their portion of the enemies’ corpses.” ² 

Therefore they have more than enough food to eat, and even suck up the water of the sea. ¹ 

Therefore ¹  they will eat from the fruit ²  of their way, ³  and they will be stuffed full ⁴  of their own counsel.

yet it prepares its food in the summer; it gathers at the harvest what it will eat. ¹ 

Death and life are in the power ¹  of the tongue, ²  and those who love its use ³  will eat its fruit.
