But there was not a man among these who had been ¹  among those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the Israelites in the wilderness of Sinai.

If a man is found kidnapping a person from among his fellow Israelites, ¹  and regards him as mere property ²  and sells him, that kidnapper ³  must die. In this way you will purge ⁴  evil from among you.

for both of you ¹  rebelled against me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the desert of Zin when you did not show me proper respect ²  among the Israelites.

They went before Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders and said, “The Lord told Moses to assign us land among our relatives.” ¹  So Joshua ²  assigned them land among their uncles, as the Lord had commanded. ³ 

What I have continually sought, I have not found; I have found only ¹  one upright ²  man among a thousand, but I have not found one upright woman among all of them.

This is my requirement that you and your descendants after you must keep: ¹  Every male among you must be circumcised. ² 

Any male among the priests may eat it. It must be eaten in a holy place. It is most holy. ¹ 

He must not profane his children among his people, ¹  for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.’”

I will walk among you, and I will be your God and you will be my people.

“Take a census ¹  of the Kohathites from among the Levites, by their families and by their clans,

“Do not allow the tribe of the families of the Kohathites to be cut off ¹  from among the Levites;

And so ¹  you are to separate the Levites from among the Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.

So he called the name of that place Taberah ¹  because there the fire of the Lord burned among them.

Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, and you will be ¹  defeated before your enemies.

These are the waters of Meribah, because the Israelites contended with the Lord, and his holiness was maintained ¹  among them.
