But the law is not based on faith, ¹  but the one who does the works of the law ²  will live by them. ³ 

“‘Any person ¹  who eats an animal that has died of natural causes ²  or an animal torn by beasts, whether a native citizen or a foreigner, ³  must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening; then he becomes clean.

I collapse ¹  from grief. Sustain me by your word! ² 

The Lord works ¹  everything for its own ends ²  – even the wicked for the day of disaster. ³ 

A fool takes no pleasure ¹  in understanding but only in disclosing ²  what is on his mind. ³ 

The one who pursues righteousness and love ¹  finds life, bounty, ²  and honor.

Whoever hides her hides the wind ¹  or grasps ²  oil with his right hand. ³ 

An end comes ¹  – the end comes! ²  It has awakened against you ³  – the end is upon you! Look, it is coming! ⁴ 

Ephraim has mixed itself like flour ¹  among the nations; Ephraim is like a ruined cake of bread that is scorched on one side. ² 

In him was life, ¹  and the life was the light of mankind. ² 

The Spirit himself bears witness to ¹  our spirit that we are God’s children.

For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.
